Trekweb.com's Bill Williams has written a moving tribute to the late Jerry Goldsmith, the renowned film composer who passed away last month. With a career spanning more than fifty years, Mr. Goldsmith created music for many of my favorite films. It's his score for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, however, that left an indelible musical signature on the entire franchise.

The article features a number of anecdotes and fond farewells from several people involved with Star Trek, from Rick Berman all the way down to a few of us lowly novel writers. It's an excellent piece and very worthy of the man it honors.

Jackie Bundy over at Trek Nation has given her own review of Star Trek: Tales of the Dominion War, offering up her opinion that "It is not often that I read a story anthology and can honestly say that I enjoyed every one. I can say that about Tales of the Dominion War. Each and every story has something singular to offer."

Hey, I guess she means "Field Expediency," too. Kewl.
