Okay, Trek-Tech fans, your dream assignment is finally here.
The adventures of Captain William Riker and the crew of the U.S.S.
Titan have begun, with the just-released novel
Taking Wing by salty Trek vets Michael A. Martin and
Andy Mangels. As part of the celebratory activities heralding the launch of this new series of novels, Pocket is sponsoring a new contest: they're letting fans like
you design the
Titan. As the rules say, "The winning design will be published in an upcoming
Star Trek: Titan novel, and will be used as the basis for cover art on the same book."
Sweet, eh?
Want all the juicy info? Then wander your way over to
Pocket Books' Star Trek Site and check out the
official rules! And be sure to check out the book, too. Mike and Andy will thank ya.
I'm fairly certain this is the first time I've been the subject of an Internet quiz.
You are Dayton Ward, AKA The Chosen One. You are
the author of such works as Star Trek: In the
Name of Honor and The Last World War, as well
as numerous projects with your self-described
dead-weight writing partner. Your website is
always available for perusing, and is
informative and entertaining. Your picture
above comes from your interview with
www.wigglefish.com.
Are you Dayton Ward or David Mack?

Note to Quiz Author: You need to have an option on the porn question for "Both."
Thanks to John Ordover at
Phobos Books, I can now offer a sneak peek at the cover for my next SF novel,
The Genesis Protocol. You can see a larger image of the cover by checking out the page I've set up for the book.
Here's hoping the book doesn't suck....
Today's her day. One year away from retirement and she's already going to the gym, working on her pulling arm for when she hits the casinos full time. So much for my inheritance....
Sent my first draft of
The Genesis Protocol to editor John Ordover at
Phobos Books last night. The current word count stands at around 112,000 words, so I suppose it's fairly meaty. John has sent me preliminary cover art, so I'll see about posting that shortly (though it's possible the final art will be different). I've also been told that the book is now being eyed for a January 2006 release. Sweet!
In other news, I'm working to finish a short story I want to submit to a new market (for me, anyway) by the end of the month. It's an idea I've been tossing around for a while now, but never seemed to have the time to sit down and write the thing. More on that once I'm finished.
