Considering the switch to LiveJournal

A few questions for those of you who visit my site and who also have LiveJournal accounts:

I'm considering making the switch from Blogger. I've already gone and registered an LJ account, but I'm still feeling away through the setup process. From what I've seen, LJ offers a variety of features and little niceties that make it easier to connect with other bloggers. I like the way it handles comments better, the whole friends feature, and so on.

For those better skilled at this sort of thing than I am, I'm wondering about the following:

How easy is it to customize the page(s)? As you can see from reading this, I've achieved a measure of success at tinkering with the Blogger template enough so that it at least appears to fold in as just another page on my site. Can something similar be done with LJ, or am I just better off maintaining the blog as something separate from my webpage?

Thanks to anyone who can offer me this initial advice!

You can choose between a substantial number of pre-made layouts and color schemes, you can customize an existing layout with your own colors and text/pictures, or create your own layout and color set from scratch.

So, uh . . . yeah, you should be able to integrate the LJ into your site's appearance reasonably well.

As Anonymous said, LJ accounts can be quite easily customized. Though some of the more advanced customization stuff requires a paid account, your current setup is so plain that I don't think getting it done with a free account will be overly difficult. :)

If you want any help with customizing the LJ before switching, to make sure you can get it like you want, I'm more than happy to help....

Only on Live Journal can you have a plush beagle in your friends list!

Thanks to everyone who's chimed in with helpful suggestions. I appreciate it!
